Frequently asked Questions

  • What if I can’t make it the full length? No worries, if you miss some days, we can find a suitable solution

  • Are the yoga sessions/workshops optional? Yes, as some people do not like to get up early, prefer other activities or have to work early on, the yoga practise is optional. the opening and closing ceremonies are highly recommended as foundation of the community.

  • How is the co-live different from a retreat? At a co-live, some attendees are on their own schedule and will even work a couple of hours during daytime. We will provide a lighter framework as compared to a regular retreat so you get more flexibility without compromising on the benefits of a retreat in terms of yoga and community building. Some communal contributions are requested from each attendees, but are usually limited to one shift per week of your stay. The contributions are simple tasks such as assistance of the cook with prepping a meal etc.

  • Is food included? We provide the ingredients for a healthy, locally sourced standard breakfast, that attendees can compose individually, including yoghurt, Oats, bread, butter, jam, fruits etc. In the evenings, we gather at a communal dinner and attendees will support in preparing the dinner according to a mindfully prepared shift plan (usually 1 shift per week of your stay)

  • Can I come with my bestie or partner? Of course, and ideally you book one of our cosy twin bed rooms for the two of you.

  • How do i get there? Ideally by public transportation. From Zurich Airport, it takes about 2 hours by train and bus. If you come by car, we have sufficient parking space.

  • Why should I join the Co-Live? We hosted different kinds of retreats over the past 4 years and the co-live gives you all the ingredients that we deducted from our journey as retreat hosts, to provide you with just the right structure for an unforgettable time in the Swiss Mountains, including yoga, hiking, communal time, wellness and a lot of time to unwind and work on your projects if needed.

  • What equipment do I need? We are in the mountains and it can get slightly cool at night. Bring some warm clothes and slippers for the house. For The sauna and hot tub you will need bathing clothes. If you plan on hiking, which we highly recommend, bring some hiking boots or solid outdoor shoes. Yoga equipment will be provided & two towels per person.

  • What if I have food restrictions? Please let us know in advance and we can certainly accommodate your requests. Nutrition will be largely vegetarian (not vegan) but we allow people to supplement their nutrition also with meat or fish.

  • Will I have to help with anything? Attendees do have some responsibilities, typical for a co-live. The community facilitators will organize your contributions, which typically include some assistance in the kitchen shifts, and around the sauna/hot tub. The communal contributions are often the key ingredient of a healthy co-living community and a great way to connect. Usually the tasks are simple such as cutting vegetables or starting the fireplace and are limited to 1 shift per week of your stay.

  • Can I fade out if I have enough of the group? Of course - we have a quiet room where talking is restricted. Besides, you can always take the bus right in front of the retreat center and reach Tschiertschen in 2 minutes or the capital city of Chur in only 20 minutes, to have a coffee, do some sightseeing or buy groceries.
