Lenzerheide-Arosa Bergbahnen AG

The Arosa-Lenzerheide ski area is close to Kurhaus Praden and can be reached in about 20 minutes via Lenzerheide in winter. By public transport, take the train to Araschgen and transfer to the post bus. In addition to skiing, Lenzerheide and Arosa offer summer activities like swimming lakes and mountain biking.

​Lake Cauma, known as the "Pearl of Flims," is one of Switzerland’s most photographed mountain lakes. A scenic hike from here leads through Conn and the stunning "Il Spir" viewpoint over the Rhine Valley, continuing to Lake Cresta before returning to Flims.

​The Viamala, about 30 minutes from Kurhaus Praden, was once a key gateway through the Alps to southern Switzerland and Italy. Here, you can see the spectacular road carved into the narrow valley and the river that shaped the limestone into stunning formations.

Johanny Spyris' novel "Heidi" takes place at a location close to the village of Maienfeld. A historic open air museum with stables and goats will give you a real life impression of this famous character who became one of Switzerlands most known fictional characters.

Bergbahnen Tschiertschen-Praden

The village of Tschiertschen is just about 1 kilometer from the Kurhaus and hosts a small, family oriented ski resort at affordable prices. The Postbus will take you there in literally 2 minutes and its even free during winter season. On the slopes there are various options to experience traditional Swiss Food for example in the Furgglis Bergrestaurant.

​The historic village of Tschiertschen was rated as the most beautiful village of the Canton of Graubuenden, specifically because of its well preserved, rustic character with the so called "Walserhäuser", which are wooden chalets, built in the tradition of the craftsmen of the Walser, who populated the vally during the 13th and 14th century.

The Alpina Mountain Resort & Spa in Tschiertschen is approximately a 10-minute drive from Kurhaus Praden. Their spa offers a Finnish sauna, bio sauna, infrared sauna, steam bath, Kneipp pool, Via Mala storm path, outdoor whirlpool with Weisshorn views, and a relaxation room with refreshments. External guests are welcome between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM, with the spa open until 8:00 PM.

Galerie Luciano Fasciati, established in 1991, is situated in Chur's Old Town. It hosts approximately seven exhibitions annually, showcasing contemporary Swiss art across various media, including photography, painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, video, and new media.

How to Get to Kurhaus Praden

​By Car​

  • From Chur (approx. 15 min):

    1. Drive in the direction of Lenzerheide and about 500 meters after leaving the city limits of Chur, turn left in the direction of Tschiertschen.

    2. After about 10 minutes, turn left towards Praden.

    3. Follow the road into the village—Kurhaus Praden is easy to spot!

  • From Zurich Airport (Approx. 1.5–2 hrs):

    1. Take the A1 highway towards Chur.

    2. Merge onto the A3/A13 and continue towards Chur.

    3. In Chur, take highway exit Chur South (Süd) and drive towards Lenzerheide, then follow the directions above.

By Public Transport

  • From Zurich Airport (Approx. 2 hrs):

    1. Take a direct train from Zurich Airport to Chur (runs every 30 min, takes ~1hr 30min).

    2. In Chur, take Bus 42 (Direction: Tschiertschen), takes ~20min

    3. Get off at the busstop called 'Kurhaus Praden' - and YES, we do have our own bus stop, right in front of the retreat center.
